What is the Turbo Hot List?
Turbo Resources is always offering special sales promotions and looking for good parts to buy. You may have already seen some of these part numbers in a Fax or e-mail. The Turbo Hot List is a list of these part numbers on Turbo Resources' Web site.

What does this program do for me?
The Turbo Hot List program, once installed on your computer, will periodically look at Turbo Resources' Web site and notify you when new part numbers are added to the Turbo Hot List.

I've installed the Turbo Hot List program but I can't find it. Where is it?
The Turbo Hot List program is designed to be as inconspicuous as possible. When the program is started it adds a globe icon in the system tray. The system tray is on the start bar and is typically on the bottom right corner of the screen. If you see a little blue globe there then the Turbo Hot List program is active.

What if I only want to see certain parts and not everything in the list?
The Turbo Hot List program can easily be configured to look for parts of a certain application and specific part numbers. When you have it configured you will only see the part numbers you want to see.

How do I configure it?
The first time the Turbo Hot List program starts it will show you the configuration options. You can place a check mark next to the applications you like, indicate specific part numbers, tell it to look at the sales promotions and/or wanted lists, tell it how often you want it to check for new part numbers and personalize it with your name, company and e-mail address. Once the program is started you can change the configuration options by right-clicking on the globe icon in the system tray and selecting "Configure" from the menu.

How does it tell me when new parts have been added to the Turbo Hot List?
One of the configuration options is "Popup When New Parts are Listed." If this box is checked the Turbo Hot List program will automatically open a browser window with the Turbo Hot List parts. If that box is not checked then the globe icon in the system tray will flash red. Simply double click the globe and you will see the Turbo Hot List parts.

The Turbo Hot List program keeps opening a browser window when I'm working on something else. How can I stop it from doing that?
One of the configuration options is "Popup When New Parts are Listed." Uncheck that box and the globe icon in the system tray will flash red when new parts are found. Simply double click the globe and you will see the Turbo Hot List parts.

The Turbo Hot List program isn't telling me there are new parts but I want to see the list anyway. What can I do?
Simply double click the globe in the system tray and you will see the Turbo Hot List parts.

I've double clicked the system tray icon or I've selected an option from the menu but it's not showing me the Web page. What can I do?
The browser on some Windows computers is a bit slow when starting up. If the Web page does not appear in a few minutes then make sure your Internet connection is working and check the configuration of the browser.

My computer isn't always connected to the Internet because I use a dial-up service. Can the Turbo Hot List program still work for me?
Yes it can. In the configuration options of the Turbo Hot List program set the time interval to "Manually." Whenever you are connected to the Internet right-click on the globe in the system tray and select "Check Now" from the menu. If any new parts are on the list then you will see them. If you use this method then the Turbo Hot List program will only check for new parts when you are on-line.

Why does my computer some times ask me to dial my Internet service provider?
The Turbo Hot List program uses the same Internet connection that is configured for your Internet browser. If you are using a dial-up service for Internet access and you are not connected when the Turbo Hot List program checks for new parts then you may be asked to dial your provider. In the configuration options of the Turbo Hot List program you can set the time interval to "Manually." Whenever you are connected to the Internet right-click on the globe in the system tray and select "Check Now" from the menu. If any new parts are on the list then you will see them. If you use this method then the Turbo Hot List program will only check for new parts when you are on-line.

What else can the Turbo Hot List program do?
The Turbo Hot List program can also take you directly to Turbo Resources' Web site. Right-click on the globe in the system tray and you can select "Visit www.TurboResources.com" or in the "Contact" menu you can select "E-mail RFQ", "Register for Mailing List", "Customer Satisfaction Survey", or get help (this FAQ page).

Is the Turbo Hot List program spying on me?
No. The only information that it looks at is its own configuration options.

Will there be support for the Mac or Unix computers?
No. There are no plans to support any operating systems other than Windows 98, Windows 2000 and later versions.

How do I remove the Turbo Hot List program from my computer?
In the Windows control panel select "Add/Remove Programs." This utility can remove the Turbo Hot List program.
